Elementary and individual small group classrooms in the 1923 building do not meet educational standards
The 1923 building has outlived its useful life and needs significant renovations and costly on-going maintenance
Parking and Drop-Off/Pick-Up not functional
No visible welcoming entrance to Central Office/Activities
No current classroom space for future expansion
Performing arts improvements needed in the 1951 gym
HVAC (heating and air conditioning) issues on-going in the 1950s elementary wing
Cafeteria space too small for student population
Design solution is needed to limit student disruption within our limited property square footage
New classrooms recapturing space from demolished 1923 building with additional new spaces for special education
Elimination of the 1923 building will allow the investment of tax dollars in other areas such as the welding/mechanics shop, science labs, and updates to the 1950s elementary wing
New, clearly defined, secure activities entrance into the building with additional “commons” space
Additional classrooms included for future expansion, including pre-K and life skills on campus with ADA accessibility
New “theater-like” transformation of the old gym with theater seating, acoustic panels, etc.
Updated HVAC units in 1950s wing, including elementary gym A/C and natural daylight in addition
Cafeteria expansion with added outdoor space for student instruction and use
Creativity in 2-story expansion project with phased approach over a 1.5 year construction timeline without disrupting students
